• Our lab is interested in developing novel materials and designing safe & economical devices for energy conversion / storage applications and process systems. We are researching four major topics: Rechargeable seawater battery technology utilizing seawater as an electrode or electrolyte, zero-fire batteries technology capable of blocking fire sources and thermal management, seawater-to-resources technology that extracts useful sources such as Cl₂ / H₂ / NaOH from seawater, and battery recycling technologies for mitigating resource depletion and the increasing issue of spent batteries.
